As UAB “Archiprojektas” company specialises in the design of staircases of various structures and constructional ferroconcrete stringers and flights of complex shape, we present you a comparison with ferroconcrete flights produced by other companies.
The shortcoming of a well-known method of ferroconcrete flight manufacture are high labour and time requirements for the installation of moulds. In order to obtain graceful and streamline shapes of stringers or flights, a regular shape is virtually impossible if planks are used for moulds. When making a spatially bent ferroconcrete stringer or flight, external part of the flight made by wooden moulds comes out angular, and looses its regular geometric shape. Despite of high labour costs for the installation of wooden moulds, the angles of spatially curved flight must be smoothened again at very high cost of labour and materials. The load bearing capacity of known stringers and flights consists of two components: concrete and reinforcement, and therefore the cross-section of flights with high dimensions is usually large. When the cross-section and the length of a stringer or flight other large, the structure is very heavy and visually very large as well, therefore such stringer or flight loses its grace and passes big loads to the base and flooring.
Our company makes ferroconcrete stringers or flights of various spatial shapes, bent or straight. Stringers or flights made by our company according to the design are also different because we install the remaining o removable metal moulds with stiffeners or without them. Taking into consideration the external factors affecting the structure during the removal of metal moulds, stiffeners are used to increase the load bearing capacity of stringers or flights. When the extent of effect is a direct atmospheric effect, moulds are left in place. Moulds are left in place to increase the load being capacity, or stiffeners are used. The load bearing capacity of ferroconcrete structures consists of three load-bearing components (metal moulds or stiffeners of the corresponding geometric structure and class, reinforcement of the corresponding class, and concrete of the corresponding density, structure and class, and if necessary, of corresponding resistance to atmospheric effects).
As metal moulds have an additional load-bearing function, the cross-section of our structure is much less, therefore we can proudly state that products made according to our technology are usually slimmer, gracious and lighter, and furthermore, the low own weight of structure transfers lesser loads to the base and floorings. The metal sheet is easily rolled, therefore when making mouldings from it, the spatial slim moulding components of regular geometric shape are obtained with low labour costs. According to the prepared detailed project, flight installation technology is very simple (the Lego principle). Therefore we install the prepared stringers or flights made according to precise design in 1-2 workdays, and if the structure is not complex, or small, we accomplish the installation work and cover the structure with concrete during one working day.
The finish of the metal remaining moulding (flights) can be made as an option. A separate technology is applied for it: the structure is coated with concrete contacting substance, plastered or puttied with ordinary constructional putty or plaster, and painted with ordinary paint (for ceilings or walls), or puttied with metal putty and painted with metal paint. When the moulding is removed, and only stiffeners are left, constructional putty or plaster is used for puttying or plastering, and painting is made according to the purpose of the structure and conditions of exploitation. If necessary, or at the request of a customer, we prepare our products for exploitation at any complex conditions of environment or aggressive environments. We protect the construction stringer or flight against a direct atmospheric effects, impacts or external physical effects, chemical exposure or fire. Depending on the external effects, we achieve the maximum durability of our structures during their exploitation.
Ferroconcrete constructional stringers made by our company may have any spatial shape, they can be straight or curved. The flights are divided according to the way of manufacture and the shape:
I Narrow, with flat bottom through the centre.
II Narrow, with snipped bottom through the centre.
III Narrow, with snipped bottom along the wall.
IV Wide, with flat bottom.
V Wide, with snipped bottom.
VI With one or two stringers (open or closed).
VII With ferroconcrete handrails (open or closed)
VIII Cantilever stairs.
